GSK will share data presentations reflecting the potential of its oncology portfolio and pipeline at the European Society for Medical Oncology (ESMO) Congress 2024. These data include important updates on key research in gynaecologic cancers and other solid tumours, including lung, rectal, and head and neck cancers. We are harnessing the power of immuno-oncology, tumour cell targeting and synthetic lethality to get ahead of cancer for the millions of people worldwide who are counting on us.

We are working to address conditions with high unmet need where we believe we can make the most difference for patients.

The role of biomarker testing in improving cancer care

Increasingly, biomarkers – the unique genetic signature of tumours – are helping oncologists match patients with the treatment option that is most likely to be effective for them. Hear from Hesham Abdullah, Senior Vice President, Global Head Oncology, R&D, GSK, and Dr Andrea Cercek, Section Head of Colorectal Cancer and Co-Director of the Center for Young Onset Colorectal and Gastrointestinal Cancer, Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center, about the science of biomarkers and how they are changing the way cancer is treated across a variety of tumour types.

Applying precision medicine in oncology

Recent advancements in technology have allowed for the development and implementation of precision medicine practices, which can improve outcomes for those living with cancer. Precision medicine technology can help match the right patient with the right medicine at the right time during their treatment and assist with the development of medicines efficiently and at pace. At GSK, we unite science, technology and talent to benefit patients throughout their cancer journey. Learn more from Anne-Marie Martin, GSK’s Global Head of Precision Medicine, on the research and development of precision oncology and what it means for the future of cancer treatment.

Patients pay it forward

After receiving an endometrial cancer diagnosis, Alex created a podcast with her mother called Down There Aware, in which she shares advice with cancer patients. She is a strong voice for women with endometrial cancer and encourages people to listen to their bodies and become their own best health advocate. Watch her conversation with Odette Allonby, Global Medical Director, GSK, to learn more about Alex’s experience with cancer and GSK’s commitment to raising awareness of this type of cancer through patient storytelling. We are proud to feature the stories of patients who have helped others by sharing their personal experiences living with cancer and advice to support others on their journeys.

Understanding the patient experience

We are ambitious for people with cancer and their stories inspire our unrelenting efforts to advance treatments to improve and extend their lives. Watch to learn more about people living with gynaecologic malignancies.
