Joined us in 1992, based in Japan
What makes you, you?
Volleyball – I created the company volleyball team in Japan to play against other healthcare companies.
What’s the best thing about working here?
I’m proud to be part of the company that leads the Japanese healthcare industry on patient focus. Our quality management system is aligned to regulatory requirements and we have some of the highest standards in the industry.
What are your highlights?
I started as a drug metabolism researcher, mainly handling animals and developing analytical assay method of drugs in biological fluids. Moving to Imaichi in 1997, I’ve been an analytical technology support, quality standard manager, site validation manger and external supply quality manager.
My family and I went to Boronia in Australia for a one-year secondment. This opened my mind to the world. I was able to develop my English communication skills, which are so important in our global business. After the secondment, I became site quality director in Imaichi – all pharmaceutical and vaccine products go through us before taken to market in Japan.
How have we supported your development?
As well as taking a professional statistical qualification, I’ve attended leadership development courses and worldwide manufacturing conferences to help network and share knowledge. Every new role has pushed and challenged me to meet company and customer expectations.
What would you say to someone thinking of joining us?
The speed of business is faster than ever. So it will be important to have a leadership and entrepreneurial mindset, along with a positive attitude.
